600 feet away there is Kerala, where you can dine. The setting was walking distance to everything we wanted to visit, like nishiki market. The kyoto shiyakusho-mae metro station is just about 400 feet away. Take a look at Nakagyo Ward neighborhood, it's worth it.

The hotel is easily accessable from the subway station, just a short 10-15 minute walk. It is a cheap cab ride to the Gion area, about 680 yen. There is plenty to do within walking distance during to day and night.

The hotel is very centrally located and therefore you can easily reach all the nice sites in the wonderful city of Kyoto.
The hotel staff speaks English very well, but is not very flexible in making arrangements for the costumers.

Room is enough big, bath room is good. Only one lift on the floor and we had to walk a lot to reach our room.
Staff don't speak English well enough, hotel is not very clean, far from the station. There is no any spa or onsen in the hotel ! What they call spa is the beauty salon.

A pleasant enough hotel, spacious room and comfortable. Located at the top of the main shopping streets, and 200m from a subway station. Buffet evening meal was nice and not too expensive (eat and drink all you want...)
Breakfast a bit expensive

Staff were most helpful and met all of our needs. The area was central to a variety of shops and food outlets which were great and there was 24 hour free internet available. The bed was excellent and bathroom products superior. A most enjoyable stay.
The room was a little small but adequate.

We have a wonderful stay at the hotel, it was near the main city for shopping and sight-seeing using the bus. Although it was a little dated, it was clean. Also, the staffs were helpful with our needs and they have a very honest room attendant.

Spacious room for twin share, we had a 1 bedroom suit! Not sure if that is standard, walking distance from all major temples, shopping and subway. Staff very helpful, would stay again.

Hotel was quiet and in a great location - in walking distance to many restaurants, clubs and Gion (geisha district). Was easy to find from subway station. Hotel beds were comfortable, fresh towels brought immediately when asked. Were also able to check in an hour before the hotel was ready. Highly recommend this hotel.
Had a few issues with the internet connection and no LAN cable.

Royal Hotel was right in the midst of downtown. It was in a super spot and perfect for sightseeing. It was a huge plus point that they had a happy hour in the lounge during the early evening as drink prices in Japan are excrutiating! Oh and they had a lovely French Bakery as well!

The location of the hotel. It is right on the center of the city. Walking distance to shops and restaurants.
This hotel has many rooms in each floors. It is quite a distance just to get to the elevator from my room. All employees have broken english. Its hard to communicate when we want or need something.
